The NOX Energy IPS serves strata properties throughout Australia by providing low-cost infrastructure and charging for residents. NOX Energy IPS devices are generally installed off strata meters, with the strata paying for the Wi-Fi network and residents paying for the device and installation.
NOX Energy currently has over 300 IPS installs scheduled through early 2025 across strata in QLD, NSW, and VIC.
NOX Energy installed a pilot IPS for Olympia on Russell to demonstrate our capabilities. The initial device was installed for Delong, a part-time Uber driver. Delong has found that even with his high-range driving, the IPS and 10A charging has more than met his needs and dramatically lowered his charging costs. It has been such a success that he is considering increasing his hours with Uber and upgrading the power supply to his IPS to 15A.
Nicole was the Owners Corporation’s point of contact during the pilot and has been exceptionally happy with the outcome. Due to the success of this pilot, NOX Energy has been engaged in installing three more IPS devices for other EV drivers in the strata.
The NOX Energy IPS has been installed to support employee and customer charging, often serving both purposes in the same location.
Metro South Health in Queensland engaged NOX Energy to install multiple electric vehicle chargers after experiencing issues with their previous Level 2 installation, which was expensive (over $15,000) and provided limited benefits, as it only served one parking space. NOX Energy collaborated with the hospital’s infrastructure manager and the parking garage owner to set up publicly accessible chargers in one of the three multi-story carparks.
These specific charging stations were equipped with RFID readers. Metro South Health employees can swipe their RFID cards to initiate free charging sessions, while hospital visitors must pay for their charging via the NOX Energy App. This dual approach maximises the benefits and utilisation for all parties involved.
The pilot program has been so successful that Metro South Health has received approval to install chargers in the other two multi-story parking garages, each containing over 1,000 parking spaces.
Please see this letter for further details.
The NOX Energy IPS has been installed at multiple short-term rental properties in NSW and VIC. The device allowed owners to install hardware at a fraction of L2 charging solution costs, enhance their listing/improve their occupancy, and ensure charging is done safely with a solution that also recovers the electricity cost.
Taras and Chee’s Airbnb in Sawmill Settlement, at the foot of Mount Buller, is a prized destination for both the ski and mountain bike seasons. Being only three hours from Melbourne and 35 minutes from the top of Mount Buller means plenty of visitors, many of who drive EVs.
After fielding numerous inquiries about where and how to charge, they decided to install their own charger to meet the needs of their guests. This was particularly important given they are in a ‘charger desert’ with the nearest charger over 45 minutes away.
After evaluating several L2 solutions, they realised that they would almost never be able to recover charging costs from guests, and even if they could, the hardware and installation costs would be so high that many guests wouldn’t use the charger.
Taras and Chee sought out NOX Energy after installing solar and seeking a solution to feed that free sunshine directly into EVs at a cost point that wouldn’t break the bank and ensure guests were charging safely without dragging extension leads all over their property. NOX Energy installed an IPS that charges guests fairly and allows Taras and Chee a simple solution to charge their own EV.
