A Scalable Charging
Solution for Everyone

A smart socket capable of safe, reliable, measurable, and low-cost charging for eMobility. The Intelligent Power Socket (IPS) meets the needs of a changing world without requiring significant infrastructure spend or effort.

SAA & RCA approved. OCPP compatible.

Easy to Install & Manage

The future of transportation is electrifying.

We help properties prepare for this future by providing affordable, scalable and seamless solutions that largely utilise legacy electric infrastructure. Our platform makes managing charging effortless for both end consumers and meter owners.

The NOX Energy Intelligent Power Socket (IPS) is specifically designed for residential strata, commercial lots, and public parking spaces. It is suitable for any location where vehicles may be parked for three or more hours.

NOX Energy handles all payment processing and reimburses the meter owner monthly, quarterly or annually for all energy consumed.

Stay Connected

A device with in-built Wi-Fi, Ethernet, RFID, and Bluetooth connectivity means uninterrupted EV charging and payment processing under all circumstances.

How it Works

Step 1

Identification of Sites and Energy Tariffs
The preferred location of IPS installations is identified and validated. Electricity bills for those areas' meters are provided to NOX Energy for upload into the NOX Management System. Specific tariffs and access can be set for unique user groups (e.g., employees could charge for free using their employee RFID card, hotel guests could be discounted with a code, or non-validated parking could be charged at a premium).

Step 2

Charge and Manage Payment
Once the IPS is installed in the designated location, the end user downloads the NOX Energy App, taps a credit card, or taps an RFID chip to start a charging session.

Charging is easy; each user pays for the energy consumed. All usage data will be available on the NOX Energy App, although the app is not required to start a charging session.

Each device is individually tracked to give Strata/site management a complete, transparent view of the charging ecosystem.

Each device and site is unique, and the NOX Energy App, in conjunction with the NMS, creates an easily manageable charging ecosystem.

Step 3

Site Reimbursement
At the end of the billing cycle (usually monthly or quarterly), the meter proprietor (typically a body corporate or management company) is automatically reimbursed for the energy consumed. Our dynamic control system accommodates the fluctuating electricity price during peak and non-peak hours.

The end user pays for their energy, and the meter proprietor is fully reimbursed!

Simple Installation

NOX Energy IPS devices are easy to install and can replace existing GPOs in as little as 15 minutes. If installed as new units, the process takes less than an hour. Each device can be wired to resident or standard meters and configured individually or as a group to ensure maximum safety and accessibility for end consumers.

Safe and Equitable Access

Safety is the number one priority when charging, so our cloud-based NOX Management System (NMS) monitors each IPS in real time. Each device will detect anomalies and immediately cease charging.

Along with anomaly detection, each device has dynamic and time-based load balancing, ensuring charging is provided safely within the confines of existing electric infrastructure.

NOX Energy ensures that end-users pay for all energy consumed and that the meter owner is automatically reimbursed monthly, quarterly or annually for all costs.

The NOX Energy IPS is IEC 62368-1 AS/NZS 60669.2.1 compliant.

Value for Money

Installation costs can vary, but generally, two to four IPS devices can be installed for the price of a single Level 2 charger.

Built to last

The NOX Energy IPS is designed to last and withstand all weather environments. The sockets’ contact surfaces have been tested to ensure 10,000+ plug cycles, allowing for maximum usage. They are also waterproof and dustproof, meeting the IP56 and IP66 standards.

Pricing

NOX Energy has a range of pricing plans to meet the specific needs of any site or organisation. We target and typically achieve a $500-$1,000 price per IPS for hardware and installation.

Our pricing breaks down into three components:

IPS Hardware

$425

Installation

$250 - $750

Per IPS, depending on the complexity of installation, location, and available/required power supply.

Ongoing

$0.05 - $0.10

Per kWh tariff for maintenance, updates, and NMS access. This tariff can be used to cross-subsidise IPS purchases and/or installations.
