A Scalable Charging
Solution for Everyone

A smart socket capable of safe, reliable, measurable, and low-cost charging for eMobility. The Intelligent Power Socket (IPS) is the device that meets the needs of a changing world without requiring significant infrastructure spend or effort.

Easy to Install & Manage

The future of transportation is electrifying.

We help properties prepare for this future by providing affordable, scalable and seamless solutions that largely utilise legacy electric infrastructure. Our platform makes managing charging effortless for both end consumers and meter owners.

The NOX Energy Intelligent Power Socket (IPS) is designed to cater for residential strata and commercial and public car parks. Essentially, anywhere a vehicle may be parked for 3+ hours.

NOX Energy handles all payment processing and reimburses the meter owner monthly, quarterly or annually for all energy consumed.

Stay Connected

A device with in-built Wi-Fi, Ethernet, RFID, and Bluetooth connectivity means uninterrupted EV charging and payment processing under all circumstances.

Simple Installation

NOX Energy IPS’s are simple to install and can replace existing GPO’s in as little as 15 mins or be installed new in less than an hour. Each device can be wired to resident or common meters and is configurable individually and as a group to ensure maximum safety and end consumer access.

Safe and Equitable Access

Safety is the number one priority in charging and each IPS is monitored in real-time via our cloud-based NOX Management System (NMS). Each device will detect anomalies and immediately cease charging.

Along with anomaly detection each IPS has dynamic and time-based load balancing ensures charging is provided safely within the confines of any site’s existing electric infrastructure.

NOX Energy and the IPS ensure end-users pay for all energy consumed and that the meter owner is automatically reimbursed monthly, quarterly or annually by NOX Energy for all costs.

NOX Energy IPS are IEC 62368-1 AS/NZS 60669.2.1 compliant.

Value for Money

Pricing can vary based on installation costs, but a general rule of thumb is that 2-4 IPS devices can be installed for the cost of a single Level 2 charger.

Built to last

NOX Energy IPS are designed to last and withstand all weather environments. Our socket contact surfaces have been tested to ensure 10,000+ plug cycles, allowing for maximum usage. The sockets are water and dust proof, meeting the IP56 and IP66 standards.

How it Works

Step 1

Identification of Sites and Energy Tariffs

Preferred location of IPS installations is identified and validated. Electricity bills for the meters serving those areas are provided to NOX Energy for upload into the NMS.

Installation

Residential/commercial properties install IPS’s at desired locations.

Each IPS is equipped with an electricity consumption meter and multiple communication options. This will allow our cloud based NMS to effectively meter, manage and control the charging process.

Step 2

Charge and Manage Payment

Once the IPS is installed in the designated location, the end user can download the NOX Energy App or tap a credit card to start a charging session. Users scan a unique QR code and activate the charging session.

Charging is easy; each user pays for the energy consumed. All usage data will be available on the NOX Energy App.

Each IPS is individually tracked to allow Strata/site management to have a complete, transparent view of the charging ecosystem.

Each IPS and site is unique, and the NOX Energy App in conjunction with the NMS creates an easily manageable charging ecosystem.

Step 3

Site Reimbursement

At the end of the billing cycle (normally monthly or quarterly), the meter proprietor (typically a body corporate or management company) is automatically reimbursed for the energy consumed throughout the period. Our dynamic control system will accommodate the fluctuating price of electricity during both peak and non-peak hours.

The end user pays for the energy they consume, and the meter proprietor is fully reimbursed!
